A question, and a statement...

First, the question: Suppose that there's a lockout next season. Would
Walker still have the right to become a free agent this time next year, or
would his right also be deferred until the end of the next season of play?

Now, the statement. Unless we can pull a major deal to move Walker for some
obviously equal talent, I say we should sign him (after the CBA
negotiations, of course). The main reason for this is because the
weaknesses in his game really stand to improve with a healthy Kenny
Anderson. His turnovers will decrease with Kenny running the offense, his
shooting percentage will increase. But at any rate, his game isn't going to
deteriorate any. And with the way salaries are going, his contract will
likely be considered very reasonable in a few years' time. Why not sign him
and, if he doesn't work out his rough spots next season, trade him for
equivalent talent?

P.S. Put me down for NO cheerleaders - am I'm 26 (although the question of
age is irrelevant)

P.P.S. The only time I ever saw the Celtics play at the Garden was a few
years ago - Larry had already retired but the Chief and Kevin were still
there. As my brothers and I went to our seats, we passed the organ and had
a great chat with the organist. At halftime he played "Maple Leaf Rag" for
us (we're Canadian). I've forgotten his name - can anyone remind me what it
was?
