The Celtics did it in the 1981 Eastern Conference Finals against the Doctor
and his Sixers. Classic series in Celtics lore. I have some tapes of that
series and I never tire of watching games 4, 5, 6.
The following year the Celtics almost repeated the trick, coming back
from down 3-1 to tie at 3-3. Somehow though, the Sixers won game 7 in the
Garden.
