Doug, I'm a dinosaur and proud of it! I'm not against or afraid of
progress. I welcome it and I am willing to check things out if someone has
a better idea. However, cheerleaders and the like is not better, it's what
the rest of the league has resorted to because they don't know how to win
.Basketball is a great game if it's played hard, on both ends of the floor
by players who hustle and look for each other. Win and they will come! You
don't need anything else. I am a Pitino fan, but he has to realize that THE
BOSTON CELTICS ARE DIFFERENT from the rest of the league. This franchise is
special, we have fans who know the game and frou-frou like cheerleaders
aren't going to cut it here. Boston is NOT a generic franchise and we don't
want to be like the rest of the N.B.A's boorish teams. Did Larry, Kevin and
the Chief need that crap to sell out every night year after year? No, they
just kicked butt every night. Pitino gave us the "I took the job because of
the tradition", routine when he signed, but he seems bent on trampling on
it by pushing for the rah rah b.s. Get us some players and restore Celtic
glory by winning and DON'T INSULT OUR INTELLIGENCE!
