flashbacks? cheerleaders?

Please put me emphatically among those who will boo the appearance of such
persons in our building. But I betcha they're on the way and will be
welcomed. I am honored to count myself among the pseudo-dinosaurs on this
list who don't like cheerleaders and fancy introductions and have no great
fondness for baggy shorts. I like basketball.

I have two questions for other dinosaurs. I think I remember two
phenomena from the 60s, but I may be wrong. Am I hallucinating when I recall
the following?
     1. A Celtics-Lakers game where Elgin Baylor fouled out (in overtime?),
at which point Bill Russell (and other Celtics?) walked over to the Laker
bench to shake his hand before the game resumed.
     2. At least one series where they didn't play the national anthem, just
introduced the teams and started the games.

I may be losing it, so thanks for the help.
