Draft Considerations

Pitino talks of his project for the NBA being Knight and McCarty. What
about his college project, Nazr Mohomed? He is 6'11" and as most who
follow the cats know, he overweight and out of shape when he came to
Kentucky and now he is still a strong inside force but also a work horse.
He is in terrific shape and is precisely the type of center for the Pitino
system, because he was groomed for the Pitino system. Nazr's specialty is
his hands. He has, probably the best hands for a center in all of college
basketball. Nazr Mohamed would be a good fit for the Celtics.

Another problem is the small forward. Rick says he wants a scorer. If
McCarty doesn't develop into that mold, which I think he will, the 99 draft
will produce another one of Pitino's favorites. 6'9" Scot Padgett, has the
tools to be a NBA player, and will be Kentucky's go to guy next year. This
guy is a gamer and will remind people of Larry. He was in some academic
problems in his sophomore year and missed a month of the season. His first
game back was Louisville, his home town. Scot was the hero of the game
knocking down clutch 3's and scoring 21 points. He is one year away frome
stardom and would fill the void at the small forward.
