Salary details for each trade

Player: BROWN for RICHARDOSN
Salary: $3,500,000 $2,820,710
FA Year: 2001 2000

Player: MINOR for PEELER
Salary: $2,160,000 $2,012,500
FA Year: 2001 2002

Now do they help the team?

Brown for Richardson- Definitely. The C's get a point guard who would
help Billups get to the level expected of the #3 pick. He'd assume the
role that Terry Porter has been so successful at for the Minnesota
Timberwolves.
Minor for Peeler- At the moment- yes. When Mercer develops a little
more- Peeler becomes someone who would be unhappy and becomes the
current Minor without the ability to play 3.

Do they help the opposition?

Brown for Richardson- Yes. Why? It helps them in that they lose the
point guard that they'd most like to get rid of while getting an
experienced shooting guard who can play the point if need be.
Minor for Peeler- Yes it does. Why? It helps them because they lose one
of their glut of shooting guards getting a quality swingman, with a
similar contract. Peeler plays the 2, Minor both the 2 and 3, they'd
rather Minor.

I'd suggest do the Brown for Richardson deal and forget the Minor for
Peeler deals.
