Joe Smith could be looked upon as one of the building blocks on this team
and looking at our cap situation trade is the only way to aquire an upper
echelon player. Our cap situation is only going to worsen once Walker gets
signed during the summer. Somewheer between now and before Walker's signing
Pitino has to identify the principal players that he needs to make a run for
championship. Role players can always be aquired later. Smith being a FA at
the end of the year is the only reason he is being traded by GS and yes it
will take lot of money to sign but nobody would offer him Kevin Garnett kind
of a deal.

Yes this team is not going to win championship, but one thing we know that
this team has been their against most teams. If we get one more player who
could paly at Walker's level in the front line we might just surprise some
of the so called contenders. - Mishra
