Re: Joe Smith trade rumors

I would trade Billups for Smith, only IF Smith would re-sign with the team.
My questions are does the LB rules under the cap come with him and is he
strong enough to give the future foundation at PF/C we need? I am unsure.

Of course this leaves a big hole at PG this season, one that could likely
be filled in the middle FA market or draft next summer. Can they ship us
Shaw back, we include Brown. Considering their respective contracts, this
would be a great deal. The bottom line would they take either Brown or
Minor? Probably not, but this would make the deal interesting. I feel
that Barros brings enough to keep around, plus we would need the PG.
Ellison should stay as his deal is not that big a drain. Brown and Minor
are the big downers on the cap, based on results.

Also no way give up on Mercer this quickly. I agree with many, he could be
the real star eventually, more so than AW. Plus he is RP's boy from UK.

I wonder if any team has ever traded a captain during the season? Well?
