Rookie All Stars Roster





  === Duncan and Van Horn highlight NBA All-Star Rookie game rosters ===



       New York, NY (TSN) - San Antonio forward Tim Duncan, the top pick

  in  last  year's  NBA  draft,  and  New  Jersey forward Keith Van Horn

  highlight the 16 players selected to play in the Schick Rookie game on

  February 7 during the 1998 NBA All-Star Weekend.

       Van Horn is leading all rookies in  scoring  this  year  at  19.4

  points per game, as well as minutes played at 39.3 per contest. Duncan

  is leading first-year players in rebounding at 11.4 per  contest,  and

  is second in scoring at 17.4 points per game.
       Joining Van Horn on the Eastern Conference squad are guards Derek

  Anderson  and  Brevin Knight of Cleveland,

along with Chauncey Billups   of Boston.  Guard-Forward Ron Mercer
of Boston will  also  be  on  the   East  squad,

along with forwards Cedric Henderson of Cleveland and Tim
  Thomas of Philadelphia.  Center Zydrunas Ilgauskas of Cleveland rounds

  out the East roster.

       Teaming with Duncan on the West roster  will  be  guards  Antonio

  Daniels  of  Vancouver,  Bobby Jackson of Denver and Alvin Williams of

  Portland, and forwards Danny Fortson of San Antonio and Maurice Taylor

  of the LA Clippers.  Houston's Rodrick Rhodes, who plays at both guard

  and forward will be on the roster, along with center Michael Stewart.

       The teams were chosen by a panel of media members  who  regularly

  cover the NBA.

       The game will be played in two 15-minute halves. If any of the 16

  players  are  chosen  to  play in the NBA All-Star game, they will not

  participate in the rookie game.
