Look at it this way...

Garrett's average is 2.25 mil a year.

Newman and Ellis are free agents. Jackson has a way smaller contract
than Billups. I think its a bad trade, but I can see the advantages of
it.

Think of it like this

Brown for Garrett - good move cap wise
Billups for Jackson - good move cap wise
Newman + Ellis for Rogers + Thomas - good move cap wise / also skill
wise in that the Celtics recieve Ellis

The first rounders is definitely what killed the deal.

Newman and Ellis are free agents. Newman is an experienced player who
could give support. Take away those draft picks and I think that trade
is a steal because it gives the C's enough cap room to purchase someone
that they would like to get before re-signing Ellis to a good sized
contract.

As for calling me a Denver Nuggets fan, did I say that I favoured the
Nuggets deal? No I didn't. I just have a more open view of the opposite
sides and advantages than some and could openly see the advantages of
the Nuggets deal.

Am I happy with the Celtics deal for Anderson? Extremely. Ever since I
thought about it an hour after I first heard about it I was in complete
satisfaction of the deal and I could understand it totally. If you dont
believe me check out http://www.onhoops.com and read 'The Next Timmy
Hardaway' It's an article I wrote the day that trade was made about
Kenny Anderson.
