give anderson a chance

Ever since the trade was announced, the majority of the posts have been
pissing and moaning about how bad a trade this was. Personally I like the
deal. I have to admit that I'm a Georgia Tech fan, so I have some bias for
Anderson, but I still thak that he's by far the best player involved in this
deal. His NBA career hasn't beel all that great up until this point, but you
have to take into consideration the teams that he's played for. New Jersey
was horrible when he was there. It was a team going nowhere. Then after
playing for Charlotte for 38 games, Anderson was moved to Portland, where he
seemed to be doing better until the Blazers got rid of PJ Carlesimo as their
coach.

I think that this team is exactly what Anderson needs right now. It's one of
the teams that he himself hand picked as one that he would like to play for,
and for once in his career he will be happy about the team that he's on. I
also think that he's a great match for the Pitino system and that he will
thrive under Pitino like he did under Bobby Cremins at Georgia tech.

Lastly, look who we gave up to get him. Billups has been in and out of the
Pitino doghouse all year, Brown is a guy we have been looking to trade for
years now, Rogers is rarely healthy enough to play, and Thomas is certainly
nothing special either. What we get is a bonafied nba point guard who is a
former all star.
