  Not true.  

  O'Neal had refused to play in international competitions before the Olympics 
came around.  The selection committee said that if Brickquille was unwilling
to represent the US before he shouldn't be given a chance to do it now (for
the 1992 Olympics).

  While Coach K might have had some say in the matter, it was not his decision
to pick players.  Dave Gavitt (remember him?) was the head man for the 
committee selecting players for Team USA.
