While we're at it, let's hire the infamous Orlando OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO-rena's PA.
Then the "Positive Image Squad" (P.I.S.) will be complete: Celtic Girls,
faceless, blow-dried yes men as TV commentators, and the aforementioned
obnoxious creature as the PA. Speaking of TV analysts, Heinsohn is trying his
darnest to make the team, but Cousy is failing the "positivity test". He is
quickly becoming the proverbial skunk at a lawn party, daring to criticize such
great basketball minds as Chauncey Billups and the megasuperduperstar Antoine
"No Such Thing as a Bad Shot" Walker, and suggesting that the great Celtic
7-foot center/shooting guard Travis Knight dunk the basketball, instead of
trying to make a layup when it's obvious the kid's mind is at war with his
shooting reflexes.
Furthermore, Cooz's seemingly congenital inability to pronounce any but the
commonest Anglo-Saxon names, and his lack of interest in stats and in games he
doesn't have to do (and, rightfully, sometimes even those that he's doing) do
not help his chances of cracking P.I.S. From the management's viewpoint,
having a Celtic legend like Cousy, with his Mr. Basketball stature no less,
plainly state the obvious (e.g., last night: "This is stupid basketball") is
very undesirable; honesty is always the worst policy insofar as the management
(and even some fans on this list) are concerned. They prefer endless promotion
and inane comments from some professional motor mouth, who might have been
"analyzing" curling yesterday and bowling the day before, and who can dissect a
pick-and-roll about as well as Cousy can pronounce "Predrag Stojakovic". Alas,
the era of corporate spinmeißters has dawned in Celticland. 'Nuff ranting.

On to trade talk: since Anderson is adamant that he won't play for the Raptors,
could we possibly get him? Should we get him? He's a true point guard, but is
injury-prone, expensive, and seems to be a head case. Chauncey's just the
opposite. If you're firmly in the "nurture" camp, then he's golden - it's just a
matter of waiting for him to develop into a PG. If you're in the "nature" camp,
you want to send Chauncey to the home-like northern climes and less frenetic
basketball in Toronto in exchange for Kenny (with additional weight thrown in to
even the scale, of course). Lately, however, Chauncey's been looking like a
keeper, with PG skills or without.
One of our most tradeworthy, but least tradable tri-captains choked in the
waning minutes. Oh well, most likely, nobody but Celtic diehards watched last
night's game anyway.
