The NBA fined Michael Jordan $10,000 for skipping the media session on
Friday. Jordan, who normally skips the media day, was in Las Vegas
playing golf.

Tim Hardaway (Mia) defeated Steve Smith (Atl) in the Shootaround contest.
The little publized event requires the contestants to make a shot from 8
spots on the court in the shortest amount of time. Hardaway hit all the
shots in 85 seconds in the finals. Charles Oakley (NY) and Sam Cassell
(NJ) also participated in the event. [If anyone has the full results,
