No. I read it as a setup. That date is one of the main control factors that
Stern has. He is not about to give it up, if there even is one. And
besides, why SHOULD the date matter? Do you mean to tell me that Billy
Hunter can't figure it out or can't negotiate in good faith without that
information? How does that change things?

They should be working hard to make the deal happen....the loss of the
season should NEVER have been the motivating factor. That leads to
shortsightedness and sloppy deals. Been there, done that.
