Hey Jim.  Unfortunately in Australia we do not have the supporter base for
basketball that there is in the US.  For this reason, to generate enough
dollars to pay all the costs of running a professinal sports team, they
really are forced to whore themselves for the coporate dollar.  Every team
has a major naming rights sponser, which can change slmost every other year.
The teams really couldn't care less who it is, as long as they cough up the
dough.  Jerseys here generally look more like a billboard than a basketball
top.  Some of them are REAL ugly.  The nationla champions look more like the
Foodland Pura Milks than the Adelaide 36ers.

In fact, last year you had my team the Carlton (popular Aussie beer)
Newcastle Falcons up against the North Melbourne Booze Less Giants.  So one
team says drink up the other says say no.....
