Re: Wallace

The Knicks traded Wallace to Toronto. Toronto traded a #1 pick to
Portland. Portland traded Chris Dudley to NY. This is all contingent on an
arbitrator's ruling that Dudley's new contract does not try to circumvent
the salary cap. The arbitrator allowed the trade, but the NBA has
appealed. It could be a few weeks before the trade is finally allowed or
voided.

Of course the Blazers (and Knicks) were trying to circumvent the cap by
re-signing Dudley to the league minimum and then trading him, therefore
allowing the Knicks to re-sign him next year to whatever they want.
Everyone knows that. The league is just mad because Dudley has outsmarted
them twice in a three year span. Remember that he was the first to have
the one year opt-out clause since used by O'Neal, Kukoc, Howard, and
others. I guess that Yale education has been of some use after all.
