RE: McCarty's shortcomings

I agree. I think , although a bit lean, his game is a 4 , not a 3, but =
his does have the quickness. I would rather see McCarty at 4 and =
Antoine at 3, but Walker is a better rebounder. Kind of the same =
problem we had with Williams ?

I'm not sure that McCarty is a championship caliber SF in the=20
future for the Celts.
He's been phenomenal running a trap, or getting dunks when the=20
opposing defense is slow on transition but, but he didn't earn
SF time for the Knicks(who have been desperate for SF help
in recent years), and his man to man D and shooting can be questioned.
=20
He may not become a natural SF. The Knicks used him as a post
player(he played center in college), and Pitino harps on him to bulk
up apparently thinking he has some potential for the 4 spot.
Also, why do Knick coaches feel guys like Charles smith, Mason and LJ =
can
get time at SF, but McCarty doesn't even get tried there.

Physically he compares well w/ Horry, but Horry can defend SF's
man to man. McCarty let big dog blow past alot. Also McCarty's
long range shooting form doesn't even look as good as servicable
SF shooters(Fox, Pippen, John Wallace). Walker may have better=20
potential at the 3.
