Free Agents

A couple of people have mentioned Pitino's desire for a big point.  If we
don't take a Chauncy Billups or Antonio Daniels with the Dallas pick, or
Kiwane Garris with the second rounder, don't be surprised if he makes a run
at Sam Cassell.  Cassell averaged over 20 points & 7 boards in his time
with Jersey, and has good playoff experience. 

 The other free agents I think could fill holes are:

Voshon Lenard - the big scoring 2 we need.  This guy can shoot and is still
very young. He shot about 40% on 3's this year.

Landing Cassell or Lenard,  along with Duncan or Battie, Thomas, Billups,
or Daniels,  & maybe a Kebu Stewert, Scot Pollard, Kiwane Garris, Dedric
Willoughby,  or Charles O'bannon in the second would seriously upgrade our
team quickly !  Move Eric Williams for Jim Jackson & if the chemistry is
right we could win 40 next year.



Walt Williams - versatile 6'8" swing man, has not lived up to his draft
position, but could be a good role player, and has good size.

Bryon Russell - This guy doesn't get any press but would be an excellent
replacement for Rick fox at the 3 position. He is very effective from
inside & out.

Isaac Austin - Good physical force inside as a backup to Duncan or Battie ?


Cliff Robinson, versatile player but attitude is a risk, and could end up
underperforming like Robert Horry.  Probably will want big money & may not
be worth it.
