Pitino's pay ...

Some people have been shocked about Pitino's contract, but compare it
against the player contracts ... is Juwan Howard ($100M+) really more
likely to bring a team the championship than Rick Pitino?

There are few players out there who are really worth as much to a team than
Rick Pitino (or Pat Riley, Phil Jackson, etc.) but there are plenty of
players who are paid as much or more.  And even better, coach's salary
doesn't count against the salary cap!
