coaches

I've been getting the digest form of this list;this is my first post--I hope
this is sent correctly.

Concerning the suggestion of Bill Fitch as coach-- I had been thinking about
this also, but..he is getting a bit old and I seem to remember him having a
heart attack(?) not so long ago (last summer?).  I don't think he is looking
for another ground floor opportunity.



Has anyone ever looked at college coaches and how they fared in the NBA--in
particular, what were the characteristics of the ones who succeeded vs. the
characteristics of the ones who failed.  For instance, do coaches who had
great defensive teams stressing zone defense tend to fail in the NBA?  I
suspect people who have coached college for very long might do poorly in the
NBA.  Is it helpful if the college coach has played in the NBA?  been an
assistant coach in the NBA?  Maybe the Celts should study this issue before
choosing their next coach.
