Workout: Derek Anderson, Tracy McGrady,

Here is a report on how the following players worked out at various
locations and some comments on
their workout:

Derek_Anderson@Vancouver:

> I have it on good authority that Derek Anderson's workout with the
> Grizzlies was a sight to behold. First, he played awful, i.e. couldn't
> hit the broad side of a barn. Second, he apparently spent time
> belittling the Grizzlies assistants who were helping him workout!
> Yikes. No wonder Stu walked out before it was over...

Tracy_McGrady@GoldenState

> McGrady worked out for 1½ hours in front of Carlesimo, interim general
> manager Al Attles and director of player personnel Ed Gregory.

> "He's a very interesting player," Gregory said. "He's very long and
> athletic, but as always with a workout, it's tough to get a complete
> picture."

> Gregory said he saw McGrady play three times this season -- twice in
> regular-season games and once in an all-star game. McGrady is on the
> lean size, weighing just 200 pounds, but is said to have tremendous
> leaping ability, a streaky jump shot and an enormous upside.

> McGrady, who averaged 22.3 points, 7.3 rebounds and 4.5 assists per
> game for a Mt. Zion team that went 26-2, participated in a number of
> individual ballhandling and shooting drills and also went up against
> 6-7 A.J. Rollins, who played for St. Mary's this season.

> "He's a little taller than me so he's definitely 6-8," Rollins said.
> "He can handle the rock and shoot the ball well. The amazing thing is
> he can do this and he's just coming out of high school. He's got a
> nice physique. If he went to college he'd be even better, but the fact
> that he is where he is, is awesome."
