Steve:

This is a good point that brings to the forefront the truth. Fox chose
to be a free agent. He didn't have to make that choice. Too bad it
worked out that way. If he had wanted to be with the Celtics as bad as
the fans on this list want him, he would not have opted for free agency.
Not to blame them, but athletes do not generally exhibit the loyalty to
us fans that we do to them. That is one reason I have virtually lost
all interest in professional sports, except the Celtics.

In fact, I check on the Tour de France more than I do on Pro Baseball or
football. The only reason I check on the NBA is that I love the
Celtics. This is the one affection I have that is stronger than the
selfish players or the selfish owners. But it no longer extends to the
NBA, as I am sick of the failure to call the games by the basic
fundamentals.

Why is obvious walking, charges, crashing through bodies, etc not
called? It is to allow Shaq, Jordan etc to put on showtime. In other
words, pro basketball is in great danger of becoming the next pro
wrestling show, if show time is not banned in favor of fundamentals.

The best game on the planet is being ruined by the type of me first
attitudes shown by both mangement and the players. Not to mention such
boneheads as pro baseball.

Ah well, that is enough of my crotchety mood for today.

Go Celtics.
