Answer to quiz

OK, here's an easier one. From the Chris Ford era, which Celtic lead the
league for a few months as the FG% leader in the NBA (didn't take the
title, but for a while was the leader halfway through the season).

That is easy.  In the 90-91 season Kevin Gamble was shooting 63% at the
All-Star break.  He ended up 59% behind the Chief (.599) and I think Buck
Williams.
