I look forward to seeing how Walker does in the Rookie All-Star Game, as
well as Abdur-Rahim. I disagree with your connection between a horrible
team and winning the rookie award. See below:

1990-91 Derrick Coleman, Nets
1989-90 David Robinson, Spurs
1988-89 Mitch Redmond, Warriors
1987-88 Mark Jackson, Knicks
1986-87 Chuck Person, Pacers
1985-86 Patrick Ewing, Knicks
1984-85 Michael Jordan, Bulls
1983-84 Ralph Sampson, Rockets
1982-83 Terry Cummings, San Diego
1981-82 Buck Williams, Nets
1980-81 Darrell Griffith, Utah
1979-80 Larry Bird, Boston

Most of these guys played on some pretty horrendous teams for their first
several years, but they still got the nod. Don't count Walker out yet.

For the sake of curiosity, how many off this list qualify to meet your
"Journeyman Status"?
