Article on shoe endorsements in wake of Sprewell incident

  To see an article entitled:

"After Sprewell, companies cutting endorsements"

about how shoe companies are reconsidering large shoe endorsement
contracts for sports stars, go to:

http://biz.yahoo.com/finance/971215/retailing_shoes_sche_3.html

Note that the byline is "BOSTON", as Converse is the company that
Sprewell had a contract with, and they are Boston-based. The other
two shoe companies that they mentioned as having plans to cut back or
eliminate celebrity athlete endorsements are Reebok and New Balance,
which are also both Boston-based.

So are the Boston shoe companies leading the way, or merely putting
themselves at a disadvantage?
