comparing Chauncey to Marb and AI

Guys,

you realistically cannot do it (comparing him to those 2).

Firstly, scoring wise. They all had to do that, because they were put
into the situation where they were the man or they were the biggest
piece to their teams puzzle.

They compiled assist numbers like they were the next big thing, and they
scored by the bucketload.

Two things make this happen.

1- read above. They were the man.

2- they had more than one teammate who could put the ball into the hole.
In Philly they had Coleman, Stackhouse, Weatherspoon, while down in
T-Wolve country, Marbury was busy passing it to Garnett and Gugliotta.
Look at the Celtics. Whose (apart from Antoine) going to score by the
bucketload every time they go out onto the court?

Answer- no one. Maybe Ron Mercer, but he needs to get to 15-20 every
night to be in the league of the guys that Marbury had to pass with.
Without a doubt Ron will but hes not there yet. Hes a rookie, so is
Chauncey. When Ron becomes consistent at scoring, you'll notice a
dramatic effect that shall have upon Chauncey's assist numbers IMHO.

Give Antoine a chance to step up to his mantle as the leagues brightest
new star (at least among them) and give the team time to add some little
pieces that give Chauncey more people the opportunity to pass the ball
too.

I bet that if Chauncey had players like Iverson and Marbury had that
we'd be totally in awe of Chauncey and would have pronounced Ricky P as
a genious by now had he had those players.

The Celtics have rebuilt, a playmaker needs pieces. He will be BIG, how
big I dont know, its up to the amount of players he can pass to.
