NBA Preview (Boston-Miami)
Boston (7-10) at Miami (11-5) 7:30 pm EST
The Heat, who have won seven of their last eight games, go
for their seventh straight victory over the Boston Celtics Friday
in Miami.
Isaac Austin has been outstanding in place of the injured Alonzo
Mourning. Austin scored 20 of his 28 points in the first half and
recorded a career-high five steals in Wednesday's 94-90 victory
over Philadelphia.
Starting guard Voshon Lenard missed the game with a sprained
left ankle but is expected to be in the lineup as the Heat go for
their fifth win in the last six games. Miami, which is 8-2 at home,
leads the Atlantic Division by percentage points over the Orlando
Magic.
Jamal Mashburn scored a season-high 32 points in a 90-74 victory
at Boston on November 5th. After winning just eight times in the
first 34 meetings of this series, the Heat have won six straight
matchups, with their last loss coming on February 3rd, 1996.
The Celtics lost at home to Chicago on Wednesday, 97-87,
suffering their fourth straight defeat. It was also their second
consecutive loss on the road, where they are 2-4 on the season.
Antoine Walker continues to be his usual self, posting double-
doubles in three of the last four games and leading the team in
scoring in seven straight contests. But the rest of the squad has
been unable to contribute significantly, with no one besides
Walker scoring more than 16 points in the last two games.
