We talk about Baker and McDyess and Smith like they were the answer to all
our problems - they aren't. The answer to our problems was drafted #1 by San
Antonio.

We need to fortify our lineup at the 1 - 4 spots over the next 3 years and
then make a big push for Duncan. By then we will be free of the rest of
Dino's money, either Brown or Barros (forget which), Ellison, and I'm betting
Knight takes the out in his contract. Plus the cap will have gone up
significantly. The trick is that we must be at or over the cap when Walker is
resigned so we can use the Larry Bird exemption on him, then free up the room
the following year to go after Duncan. 

And who knows? Maybe Walker, Mercer & Billups become superstars in the
meantime. I think there has been at least one team recently who's won without
a top center.  ;)
