The way you've been defending this team, I figured you'd go closer to 40.
I'll also agree that Mercer is, hopefully, much better than Minor, and that
the part about Walker was, let's say, iffy. But it seems that even you
agree the Celtics probably wont make the playoffs and at best (depending on
your point-of-view) will get a middle-of-the-pack draft pick. And if that's
the case, then, here we go again, since Pitino's admitted he's out of the
'97 free agent market, it's a short trip back to the land of "They have to
get worse to get better." He has three options for improving: 1. He can
draft high, which he just did. 2. He can get free agents, which he admits
he won't or can't do. 3. He can trade. He has to do number three, I think,
quickly, (the Pippen trade was a nice try) because if they go through three
years of 25-35 wins, option 2 is gone also, because free agents are
attracted to winners.
But, then again, I could be wrong...and it's early. And now I'l crawl back
into my hole of pessimism,...thanks.
