This doesn't mesn he's gone, just that we have to compete on the open
market for him (he could still sign w/ the C's for less than he is offered
elsewhere if he really wants). The only chance he's taking is if no other
team offers him as much as he was guaranteed w/ the C's (Derek Strong
situation).

I don't like Larry Brown (I don't doubt his abilities really, I just
disslike him), but think it could work out like the Fitch situation. If he
leaves in 2-3 years I doubt there will be turmoil. We need a coach that can
TEACH younger players how to play the game of basketball, not a game of
rotisserie basketball stats. Say he gives the basics and structure that our
younger players need and then leaves. We shouldn't have too much problems
finding the right coach (who wouldn't have wanted to be KC when he took the
C's job).

If the situation isn't right for Pitino now, what about in 2 years when we
have Walker, Williams, Wesley, and our 2 draft picks from this year and
future years, playing fundamentally sound team basketball, along with
possiblly a FA Vin Baker
(not that I'm saying Pitino is the answer, I'm just using him as an example).

Just a few thoughts
