Not only was Bird a prototypical point forward, the guy who coined the
phrase was referring to Bird. Bird was asked what he thought of the
comment and he answered that he didn't like the label because he was only
doing what every good player should do no matter what position they play
- -- pass the ball until the team gets the best shot possible.
