Once you renounce a player, you cannot resign them until a month into the
season (or something like that) - the intriguing option with Todd Day, is
that the Celtics have an option on his contact for next year.  they can
automatically resign him to his current contract + 30 percent.  Not a
great deal, but it does allow them to free up the money the  next year for
the
big free agent crop.  It    also ties up ,omey, and might convinve Fox to
keep his existing contract.
