I kind of feel like that fly reading such great post.

Hey Kara,

Nice to hear from you. I don't even know about this band! I guess I should
get out more often.

As for the Kinks, I agree with Mark about Ray and Dave Davies. They are just
superb songwriters. Their catalogue is a bit confusing to choose from at the
record bin, so maybe the experts (Mark and Lew) could give us a hand in
choosing which way to approach exploring this important band.

I love their BBC disk. It gives a nice overview. Except Bones, and they put
it on there twice for some reason. Death of a Clown live is better than the
studio version. I just adore that cd. My daughter went out and bought it too.

I am very grateful to Ray for writing "Catch Me Now I'm Falling" at the end
of the seventies. As a young American then, I didn't know what it was like to
have a reason to love my country at that time, even though I did anyhow. We
were being mocked on every front it seemed and the future looked dim. It was
good to hear a European say something nice about us. Now the Clash? Well, they
mattered, but they still got a load of boos from us dummies at the
Silverdome. Thank you, Ray.
