Re: The Wonky One

Why hasn't he apologized? Why does it seem like he's still under the
impression that his reasons for paying to access the site were legit?

Stand up, Pete. Be a man. Apologize. Say you were wrong. Not be-
cause you didn't *know* it was a criminal offense, but because the
idea of giving money to a child porn site is morally wrong, no matter
how much cash you've raised in the past for children's charities.
It's curious that nobody here seems to recall that Pete already issued an apology in a previous statement. Did he apologize too early? Is there some standard for this that "criminals" are supposed to apologize when sentenced?

I've already mentioned that I think Pete should come out at this point with all guns blazing. I have to issue a disclaimer here that I'm not qualifed to give legal or any other kind of advice; everyone should evaluate problems on a situation by situation basis and respond accordingly. HOWEVER, on a general basis, when you apologize, the opposition takes it as a sign of weakness and attacks you further, trying to force further apology, etc., etc. until they have you reduced to total sniveling cowardice. If I were Pete, I would attack the Pheonix Survivors for whining. They're wasting effort in trying to make a big thing of Pete's relatively minor infringement when they should be out there lobbying to cut off credit card support for child pornographers instead. The same thing goes for the tabloids that are still trying to trash Pete's reputation.

Pete has investigated the industry and the child sex trade (a little too much, actually) and he should have some strong things to say about it now. Otherwise, his research has little point.
