re: who vs. zep



just weird.  I wonder if them two were friendly at all. they were a bit
alike
as I said before.
While impressions can be wrong, it has always been mine that The Who and Zep
camps didn't particularly care for each other. I base this on Moon's
statements regarding how that band was going 'down like a Led Zeppelin>

You got to remember, Keith made this comment before Zep was a band, before they even had a name. My only impression on how the two camps got along comes from a Townshend interview I think during late 80's early 90s. I forget where the interview was, or many other details about it, but Pete was talking about the evolution of a band, and said something derogatory about Zeppelin. He said something how Zep turned into this awful entity. Or something like that.

P.S. About the show at Merriweather. I was much too young to attend, but the stories also included the fact that the huge fence that surrounds the venue was uprooted by the huge crowd that showed up for the show, and thus the Who were no longer allowed to play there.
