More Water

I know we hit a couple songs from the album, but has anyone noted how
prolific the water/river references are in Pete's "All the Best
Cowboys"?

1. Stop Hurting People - "...the truth confronts you as the sea,
crushing without detail..."
2. The Sea Refuses No River - A few vague references to H20?
3. Exquisitely Bored - "...walking in Laguna (beach)."
4. Communication - "...use the words like flowing river touches."
5. North Country Girl - "...she washes clothes where the river
bends..."
6. Somebody Saved Me - "It always rains in Sunnyside Grove." "...'til
the rain looked just like snow."

I betcha there are a few more, but these are the ones I could think of
off the top of me head. I remember an interview (MTV?) with Pete when
Cowboys came out, and I recall him saying that there was a lot of
water/river references throughout the album because for him, water meant
a sort of purification, and this was around the time Pete sobered
himself up. Damn, I forgot about that stuff. Good game Scott, weeks
later and the water references are...well, still POURING in.
