Re: The Who Mailing List Digest V10 #106

Kevin wrote a colorful essay on GM.

>down......"Hey, let's hit the beach!"....In popped Going Mobile, and 'the
>kids' were off! 3 hours later, fighting to stave off hangover, we'd arrive.

>Later, and I encourage *everyone* to do this at some time, my wife (then
>girlfriend) and I would take her dad's "project van" (one of those big-butt

>lawn chairs, dog and any other creature comforts in back,....boards on

>We'd just pull into the Nags Head Woods, and sleep. Pull up to the Hatteras
>Lighthouse, and ....beach. Pull up to Buba's Bar-B-Q and......Bar-B-Q.

I also love this song. The Lifehouse Chronicles version *Stand Alone* and
in the context of the *radio play*.

Your description of the Outerbanks road trip painted a nice picture, and
my imagination added the soundtrack. The only thing that was missing was
the *road trip aroma*. You know, the *I've been in my van for 5 days* smell!
This only works when nobody on the trip has showered. Once you encounter
civilization the gig is up!

Nice!
