album or no?

Now that The Who's tour is down to it's last leg, does anybody have any
thoughts about whether they ought to go ahead with the planned album
this fall?

There are a couple of positive signs that indicate the time is now,
like the audience response, the Ultimate Collection sales and the
positive critical reviews. The fanbase seems to be building up.
Pete's chatboard seems like it will break 15,000 membership with no
trouble whatsoever--quite a contrast to the relatively small membership
it's first incarnation attracted. Zak sounds great.

On the downside, they're operating without John. This sudden change in
their lineup leaves them in a similar situation to the making of FACE
DANCES and IT'S HARD. Can the make a good solid album without John's
input?

Should they go ahead or not?
