Ivor info

Speaking of Ivor the Engine Driver, here's some recent info. It may be
a little far for US listers to travel, but if there are any fans in the
UK, here it is:

>All,

Here is another one of my infrequent mailings...

On Saturday 28th September at 3pm there will be a screening of selected
episodes drawn from The Smallfilms Treasury, perhaps the Clangers,
Noggin the Nog , Ivor the Engine or Bagpuss, and then at 4.45 will be a
chance to meet Oliver Postgate and Peter Firmin and to share with them
some recently revived films.

Venue : The National Film Theatre, Waterloo, London.

Saturday 28th September 2002 at 3.00 and 4.45 pm

Following last years succesful event where we screened The Pogles
..Oliver Postgate has commissioned the Dragons' friendly society to
locate, repair, clean up, and otherwise restore his 5 favourite
episodes of Pogles Wood - featuring our heroes Pippin and Tog.

The 5 episodes: Strong Music; A Little House; Flowers; Bricks; and A
Paper Tiger were feared lost due to deterioration in the original films
and their absence from the BBC library.

At the screening there will be a rare chance to chat to Oliver and
Peter
about their storytelling, models, illustrations and work, the true
value of which is at last being recognised.

These stories will also be available for purchase on VHS at the event
together with a wide range of merchandise, pottery and videos.

Oliver and Peter will be there to answer questions and we hope you will
have the opportunity to join us all.

TICKETS for the event are only available from the NFT Box Office to
whom all enquiries should be directed.

NFT Box Office: 020 7928 3232 Open 11.30am to 8.30pm.

In other Smallfilms news, the resurgence in Bagpuss continues, and now
you can even buy singing mice! Check the merchandise page:
http://www.smallfilms.co.uk/buystuff.htm for details.

Ivor the engine continues his slow journey back to the mainstream. You
can get greetings cards now, and even a computer model of Ivor to use
with Microsoft Train simulator.

Noggin is the focus of a lot of work at the moment, and I'll let you
all
know when and if it comes to fruition.

Thats all for now. If you don't want to recieve these e-mails, let me
know and I'll delete you from the list.

Best wishes,

Nog
