Re: Drugs & RnR and Whofest Three and NOT THE WHO!!!

Another reason that may have contributed to Kurt Cobain's suicide is the
fact that he suffered from a very painful stomach disorder - untreatable
stomach ulcers or something like that - which apparently caused him un-
bearable pain at times.

Scott:

Maybe...I can't imagine they would trouble him much while on heroin, but then I've never had stomach ulcers or done heroin, so I don't know.

But, I still LOVE to smoke.

Kevin:

Yeah...I miss it myself.

1. What was The Who's greatest success or achievement in their career?

Scott:

Quadrophenia, hands down. I love Tommy in the way one loves a special Christmas morning memory ("Did you ever..." never mind). But Quad is IMHO their masterpiece.

2. What is your fondest, personal memory dealing with The Who?

Whofests One and Two (especially Two, because we were kindly allowed to tour the Baba Center and enter the famous Lantern Cabin - see Who Came First for more on that), closely followed by the preshows I have been fortunate enough to attend. Anyway, Whofest Three is in planning for summer 2003.

lot to me personally, but it *finally* made a Who fan out of my dad
who, prior to that night, thought that good rock music ended when
Buddy Holly died.

Leslie:

Who is your dad, Don McLean? Seriously, I can't imagine a Holly fan suddenly turning to The Who...that's a long road...so good work!

suicide. I'm no doctor, but I don't think there's a cure and that you feel
sick all the time.

Rick:

And here I thought it was because Bush was appointed President! All I know is that's when it started...

The Who is bigger than its component parts.

Mc:

True. But with two out of four components missing, it's no longer The Who!
