Re: The Who is a Man's group mostly

As a (young) female (I'll be 23 next month, though I
easily still pass for a teenager!), albeit a rather
gender atypical female, I've come to see in the past
two years I've been a hardcore (as opposed to casual
lawn seat) fan that as a female I do relate to The Who
differently that most guys do. The conversation on
the lists I'm on for young female Who freaks is often
drastically different than the conversation on the
testosterone Who lists like igtc and O&S; we talk
about things there we'd get made fun of for even
bringing up on the mostly-male lists! Even the way we
relate to our favourite members of the band is on
different levels than how a man usually relates to his
favourite member of the band; most straight men
wouldn't declare that their favourite member of a band
is hot/sexy/has an angelic voice/etc. As a female, I
also have different reactions to the music; for
example, most guys hate songs like "YBYB," "Now I'm a
Farmer," "Squeeze Box" (which I also hate), "Girl's
Eyes," "A Man Is a Man," and "One Life's Enough," but
many females have different reactions to those songs
because of their gender. I've written numerous things
on my website about how I am a young female have a
different experience and perspective on The Who than
an older guy would.
