Re: Who's in ads (again)



Because they were/are the idols of the counterculture?  Still seen as the 
independent rebels that made in spite of their rebellion?  Who else lasted 
with any integrity?

I'm still not sure I like hearing The Who music in the ads, but you can't 
question the wisdom of the move.  I mentioned the Moby interview where he 
said he was totally shut out of normal channels, and made it by selling his 
music to ads and shows.

In the long run, I don't think it will hurt the music.  It retains its 
excellence regardless of the ad exposure.  I don't have any doubts at all 
about the movie soundtracks.  I like to see some of The Who's more obscure 
material appear there as well.
