Not sure what u mean here.  Is it that you don't think the keyboard SHOULD be 
used in CE, or are you questioning that it was used at all.  I can assure you 
it was used in the CE version I have from Denver in 2000.  It sort of 
replaces the "OOh, ooh" falsetto that John used to sing right before the 
"can't explain" chorus.  IMHO it adds a dimension to the song.  I actually 
prefer the Denver CE to the Leeds one.
