My Generation re-release; Who life without John

Jeff:

It's just not worth it. I hardly have time for this list anymore.

MCA records told me that the "street date" of the My Generation CD is
August 27.

TR:

Thanks to you, Scott and Jeff for the answer. Ah, it would have been nice to listen to on the plane.

But, you like to stirr the shit up, don't you.

Kevin:

I find it interesting that he first mentioned me in a plea for information ("anyone, even Mark") and then attacked when I wrote to someone else...almost as if he was "laying in wait." Whereas I left him alone, being familiar with his nature.

Sorry. What was percieved was not what was intended.

Mc:

If you say so. But in the future I'd advise you to be aware that there's no body language transmitted via EMail and it's best to be absolutely clear and correct when mentioning another person.

I believe that to call Chris Entwistle an "alleged son" is troll-like. I

I understood that he meant the poster of the note was not definitely the son of JAE. You know, my name isn't Bushchoked...how do you know I'm really the same guy who used to be on this list named Mark R. Leaman? What if I'm someone who took up the name when he left, someone maybe already on the list who wanted to be on from another angle? How could you possibly know? I could be Pete Townshend, for all you know. I could be ANYONE. So could the person using the name Chris Entwistle.

simply took offense to many of his attacks on Pete and Roger, especially
since I spent the best week of my life watching an hearing them pour their
guts into four amazing concerts.

I can't speak to that, yet. It's impossible for me to believe that they're better without John than with, as he was fully half of their sound after Keith died. I saw them with Keith. And on every tour from 1989 on. The `96-97 tour was great, with `97 being measurably better than `96. The 2000 tour was just below the 1975 level, but a lot of that came from John (who had a larger presence on that tour than any I've seen since `75, most likely because the other tours had outside musicians). So while Pete might be on his highest level...I don't doubt that, given his evolution since the band broke up...Roger's voice couldn't be BETTER, so it's good enough if he stays on the 2000 level. But...what we're left with is no John!

were truly inspired. Simon adds a nice dimension the backing vocals that has
been sorely needed.

I have no problem with Simon along; he definitely contributed to the `96-97 tour and I was hoping it would free Pete to play more lead.

Well, look who is trying to start a "dispute"?

That would be Jim.
