if you want the fastball version of that song, it's on the album "substitute: 
the songs of the who" which also features who covers by sheryl crow, pearl 
Jam, david bowie and even a recording of the who themselves with kelly Jones 
of the stereophonics doing "substitute" from the royal albert hall gig that's 
on DVD now and a "music video" version of that performance is currently in 
circulation on vh1 classic.
