Who reviews

I've been poking around over at thewho.net in the show reviews and pics,
etc. (Great photos, Magik!) Here's an excerpt from one of the reviews that
expresses The Who's philosophy on practicing.

http://www.thewho.net/news/who2002/who2002.html

>We had tickets which put us at the front, ominously about six feet from the
>right-hand PA stack (I'm still deaf in my right ear, two days later!)
>Basically, they played a fantastic set. I saw the Who at Sheffield in 2000,
>doing what was basically a slick, rehearsed "greatest hits" show, but this
>was a lot rawer and looser. As Rog said, "Welcome to our third rehearsal",
>and then went on to say that weeks of practice in studios aren't worth one
>song in front of a crowd. He really looked like he was enjoying himself!

It seems to be the audience that makes it come alive for them.
