Beep! Beep! Vespa scooters zip in for little rides,
big fun

When a friend offered to sell Jim Babcock a 1971 Vespa
scooter for $1,500 two years ago, he couldn't resist.
"I love the design," he says, "the sensory experience
of being in the open air." 

Then again, the scooter's soft curves, cute blue color
and tiny wheels can be the object of derision, he
admits. "I'd pull up to an intersection and Harley
guys would laugh at me," says Babcock, 32, a Cartoon
Network publicist. 

That's when I yell "Sod off ya fookin' rockers!"
Okay I added that last line.
