Not one of my favorite songs. Actually my wife's least favorite song.

>PPP which I think is incredible, and just as good as the Brown version,

PPP? Are you doing the dance? Toilet it just down the hall.
Really, I'm having a block with PPP. Help. It's Monday.

STONE???? (now I'm gettin' >mad) Leavin Here??? BUCKET EFFING T???

Well, I like that stuff. Allot actually. But, I also don't have a bunch of
familiarity with the original versions of them.

I'm gonna back off a bit from my original "don't like covers" statement.
I heard a really good cover over the weekend of "Feelin' Groovy" done by
something's "big ego" (forget his name). It had balls, gave homage to the
original, yet wasn't a boring identical version (like Cobain's copy of
Bowie's MWSTW)
I also really like Bowie's cover of Pictures of Lilly.

So, I guess my revised statement will be that I don't like unchanged or same
as the original covers.

>Who's the heroine?

The "e" that I mistakenly added to heroin is the heroine. ;-)

Nor do I. Put The Jam into the same category too.
But, then we have to look at how far these sorts of bands were able to make
headway in the American market.
Would The Beatles or Stones have been as big with thick English accents?

I wish I could get access to that diary entry by Pete where he discusses
this singing without English accent. It was earlier this year, but those
diaries are no longer available. It made such an impact on me I printed it
out to mull over and discuss here on list. Things happened since to get me
distracted. I can't even find my print-out now.
