Re: The Who Mailing List Digest V9 #246

A lot of people feel this way, we just aren't saying anything.

Bruce:

That's what I've been thinking. Like it's disloyal to say anything bad about the band right now.

I made my decision (the schedule helped) not to go to any
shows, thus I'm missing my first Who tour in 20 years.

I made the same decision for the `82 tour, having seen them only once before (1975), with Moon, and didn't want to muddy the memory with a Jones show. However, by 1989 I was ready to see them despite it was even LESS like The Who on that tour. It was great, but in retrospect the least of the five times Who concerts I attended. 1996 at MSG (where we met) was next, and that was a very good show...and although as a rule I will not go to more than one show per tour, I did go again the following summer (Raleigh) to find they were even better than MSG. Quad being my favorite album MIGHT be a factor, but then came 2000 and they were incredible for that one. As I've said elsewhere. That is to say I might, will probably, go to any future tours (if any), and be happy enough I missed this one. Although that wasn't the only reason I bailed on Boston.
